Hand Sawing

Hand sawing uses a handheld concrete saw powered by petrol, electric 415v, hydraulic, motors. The operator manually guides the saw through the concrete.

Common uses:

• Cutting expansion joints 
• Creating openings for doors and windows 
• Trimming concrete slabs and walls 
• Utility trenches 
• Repair work and demolition

• Portable: Easy to transport and use in confined spaces. 
• Versatile: Can cut concrete, brick, asphalt, and reinforced concrete. 
• Quick setup: Minimal preparation compared to larger equipment.

Typical cutting depth:

• Around 150mm, depending on the blade size and machine.

Ring Sawing

A ring saw is a specialised handheld saw that uses a diamond cutting ring instead of a traditional circular blade. Because the blade is driven from its edge rather than its centre, it can cut much deeper.

Common uses:

• Deep wall and floor openings 
• Structural alterations 
• Door and window penetrations 
• Bridge and infrastructure work 
• Thick reinforced concrete where a standard handheld saw isn't deep enough 

Benefits of ring sawing:

• Greater cutting depth: Typically up to 300mm. 
• Cleaner corners: Makes it easier to achieve square openings with less overcutting. 
• Fewer cuts required: Reduces the need to cut from both sides of thick walls. 
• Precision: Produces accurate cuts while minimising damage to surrounding concrete. 
• Access: Can reach areas where larger wall or floor saws cannot be used.
